What you can do
- Start from a template or your clips. A reel template asks for one clip per page and keeps its timing; Make a Reel turns any clips into a page each, 2 seconds long.
- Set each clip's length. From 0.3 to 10 seconds, for one clip or every clip at once. The row under the canvas shows each clip as wide as it plays.
- Animate your words. Typewriter, Word pop, Word rise, Handwriting, Karaoke, Count up and more.
- Add transitions. Fade, Push, Zoom, Whip or Burn between any two clips, or straight cuts.
- Put a look on each clip. Film, digicam and tone filters.
- Add stickers. From Seamly's sticker library, placed on the clip in view. They can animate too.
- Save one video. An MP4 with every clip in order and the transitions between them.
How to make a reel, step by step
Step 1: Start a reel
In New project, choose Make a Reel. Or open a reel template from Reels on Home and tap Use.
Step 2: Pick your clips
Choose videos from your phone or computer. Each clip becomes a full-screen 9:16 page. A template takes one clip per page and fills its pages in the order you picked.
Step 3: Set how long each clip plays
Tap a clip in the row under the canvas, then Length. Choose a length for this clip or for every clip, from 0.3 to 10 seconds.
Step 4: Add words, stickers and a look
Text writes on the clip in view and Animate brings the words in. Stickers opens the sticker library. Look puts a filter on the clip.
Step 5: Add transitions
Tap the + between two clips and choose a transition, or Use on every cut. No transitions goes back to straight cuts.
Step 6: Play it and save it
Play shows the whole reel. Save makes one video, every clip in order, ready to post to Reels or TikTok.

Is the reel maker free?
You can pick clips and edit a reel for free. Saving a video needs Seamly Pro, and all 13 reel templates are Pro.
What size is a reel?
9:16, 1080 × 1920 pixels: full screen on Instagram Reels and TikTok.
How long can each clip play?
From 0.3 to 10 seconds, and never longer than the clip itself. A clip with animated words plays for at least 1 second.
What does Save make?
One MP4 video: every clip in order, with its words, stickers, look and the transitions between clips.
Which transitions are there?
Fade, Push, Zoom, Whip and Burn, or straight cuts. You can set a different one between each pair of clips.
