Instagram photo splitter
One wide photo, one seamless carousel. Seamly cuts a panorama, a group shot or a long flat-lay into equal slides that line up as people swipe: start a seamless carousel, stretch the photo across its pages and save every slide in posting order, at Instagram’s size. Then add words, stickers or a template on top, on your phone or in your browser.
Free to start · 4:5, 3:4 or square slides · No watermark on free exports

Split a photo in three steps
- Get Seamly. Free on iPhone and Android, or start in your browser.
- Start a seamless carousel and add your photo. Choose the slide shape and how many pages, then stretch the photo across them so it runs from one slide into the next.
- Save the slides. They come out numbered, at Instagram’s size. Post them in that order as one carousel.
What to split
- Panoramas and landscapes. The classic: a view that keeps going as people swipe.
- Group photos. Give a long line of friends or a team a slide each, without shrinking anyone.
- Products in a row. One flat-lay or shelf photo, cut so each item gets its own slide.
- Drawings, posters and moodboards. Anything made wide on purpose, so people swipe across it.
Seamly exports slides at Instagram’s sizes, such as 1080 × 1350 for 4:5 and 1080 × 1080 for square. For more on shapes and seams, see the seamless carousel guide or the panorama guide.
Questions
Is it free?
Yes. Seamly is free to start on iPhone, Android and the web, and free exports have no watermark. Seamly Pro adds Pro templates and tools.
How do I split a photo into slides?
Start a carousel on a seamless canvas, add your photo and stretch it across every page. Each page becomes one slide, and the photo runs from one slide into the next.
How many slides can I make?
Pick as many pages as your photo needs. Instagram takes up to 20 photos in one carousel; three to five suit most panoramas.
Will the slides lose quality?
Seamly exports every slide at Instagram’s size, 1080 pixels wide, or in HD. Start from the original photo rather than a screenshot, and the slides stay sharp.
Can I split an ordinary photo, not a panorama?
Yes. A wider photo fills more slides without cropping, but any photo works: move and zoom it on the canvas to choose which part each slide shows.
Why don’t my slides line up on Instagram?
Instagram gives every slide the first slide’s shape. Keep the crop in Instagram’s picker on the shape you made the carousel in, and post the slides in order, starting with 01.
Want words, stickers or more photos across your slides? Start from the carousel templates or the collage templates.
Seamly is an app too
