Making carousels
What is Seamly?
Seamly is a carousel, collage and story maker for Instagram and other social apps. Start with a template or a blank canvas, then export slides that are ready to post. It works in your browser at canvas.seamly.art, and as an app for iPhone, iPad and Android.
What size should Instagram carousel slides be?
1080 × 1350 pixels (4:5) is the safest choice and fills the most of the feed. Square slides are 1080 × 1080 (1:1), and Instagram also accepts 3:4 photos at 1080 × 1440. The first slide sets the shape for the whole carousel, so keep every slide the same size. In Seamly, these are the Post, Square and Tall sizes.
How many slides can an Instagram carousel have?
Up to 20 photos or videos when you post from the Instagram app. Some scheduling tools still stop at 10. In Seamly you can start a project with up to 20 pages.
How do I make a seamless carousel?
Start a new project, open More options, set the number of pages and switch on Seamless canvas. Photos, text and shapes can then run across the slides, and dashed lines show where each slide ends. The step-by-step guide covers sizes, seams and posting, and the panorama carousel guide has a free splitter that cuts one photo into slides for you.
Can I make a panorama carousel from one photo?
Yes. Put the photo on a seamless canvas and stretch it across every page, or cut it straight into slides with the free splitter in the panorama carousel guide, which also shows how many slides a photo needs.
Why are there lines between my carousel slides?
Thin lines usually appear when the slides aren’t all exactly the same size, or when Instagram has to resize them. Export every slide at the same size, 1080 pixels wide, and post them in order without changing the crop. Avoid putting fine details right on a seam.
What can I export?
You can export the current page or all pages as JPEG or PNG images, one file per slide, in page order. Some advanced quality and video options require Seamly Pro.
Can I use templates commercially?
You may use templates to create personal or commercial end content. You may not resell, redistribute or extract the template itself, and you remain responsible for rights to media you add.
Apps and devices
Do I need to install anything?
No. The editor works in a modern web browser. Seamly is also an app for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and for Android on Google Play.
Can I use Seamly Pro on the web and in the apps?
Yes. Seamly Pro is shared across iPhone, iPad, Android and the web when you use the same account. If you bought Pro in the app, log in on the web with the account you use in the app, and your Pro comes with it.
Plans and purchases
Can I use Seamly for free?
Yes. Core creation and standard exports are free. Seamly Pro unlocks every Pro template, Pro fonts and looks, your brand kit, cloud sync, 2× and multi-format export and video export. Plans and prices are on the Pricing page.
How much does Seamly Pro cost?
On the web, Seamly Pro costs $4.99 a month, $29.99 a year or $59.99 once, plus tax where it applies. New yearly subscribers get a 7-day free trial. In the iPhone and Android apps, Seamly Pro is sold through the App Store and Google Play in your local currency, so prices there can differ.
How do I cancel or get a refund?
Cancel a web subscription any time from Settings in the editor or the link in your Paddle receipt, and keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Web purchases can be refunded in full within 14 days: use the link in your receipt or email support@seamly.art. In the apps, cancel from your App Store or Google Play subscriptions; App Store purchases are refunded by Apple and Google Play purchases under Google Play’s refund policies. The Refund Policy has the details.
Projects and privacy
Where are my projects stored?
Seamly is local-first: projects and original media can stay in your browser. If you sign in and enable cloud sync, selected project data is also stored securely so you can work across devices.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Local-only projects can be removed when site data is cleared. Sync important projects or export a .seam copy before clearing browser storage or changing devices.
Does Seamly track me with advertising cookies?
Only on the web. The apps use no advertising cookies. On seamly.art and the web editor, pseudonymous analytics and ad tags (Google Ads and TikTok) stay off unless you allow them, except on the page our phone ads lead to (canvas.seamly.art/get), where they are on outside Europe until you turn them off with Privacy choices; they tell us which of our ads led to a sign-up or purchase, and TikTok also lets us show our ads on TikTok to people who visited. You can change your choice in Settings at any time. The Privacy Policy explains what we collect.
How do I delete my account?
Open Settings in the web editor or in the iPhone or Android app and choose Delete account, or email support@seamly.art from the address connected to your account.
Help
How can I get help?
Email support@seamly.art. Include what device and browser you use and a short description of what happened, but never send passwords, sign-in codes or payment-card details.
